The Honda scooter that I found on a pile of rubbish has been resurrected.

Yesterday was a strong trade winds day. I went kayaking after work, and found extreme conditions for the second time in as many weeks.

I have enough things to do, and so I decided to leave it for someone else. After I got home, I thought about it, and said to myself that if it was meant to be mine, it would still be there tomorrow.

I was out on my recumbent bike yesterday (Sunday), and I rode fifteen plus miles The wind was blowing over 25 MPH, and it was a challenge at times. My ride took me completely around Diamond Head, and up to the top of the hill there. Coming back down to cross Kapahulu Avenue, I exceeded 35 MPH at one point. I then went down to parks and watched the wind on the water.

"By the time I got to the tunnel at the top, and started down the other side, the "CHECK ENGINE INSTRUMENTS," light was on, and the temperature gauge was in the red."

Today's story is about my Chevy. The electrical problem has given me a break, but the new torture is overheating. It took me a few days to track it down, and I replaced the water pump as one of the possibilities. It turned out to be a clogged radiator. I took the radiator out and flushed it, and I'm back on the road.

I've finally reached the point in my life that I've decided to learn how to dance. I'm starting with Salsa, and Merengue. (Latin dancing). This startling announcement is only noteworthy because I'm going to be sixty-four in August, and have avoided dancing all my life. Lately, the more I learn about the discipline and skills involved, I've come to realize that I've wasted so much time, (up until now......) running away from something that would have enriched my life.

This all started Tuesday (after work). My 1997 Chevy S10 truck has been running fine up until now. I got in it to go home, Turned the key and the engine spun over fine, but the truck wouldn't start. I just left it there and took one of the company trucks home. I've been a mechanic my whole life, and I love a mystery........so I thought about what it could be. Fuel pump..That's one logical culprit.

Yesterday, after work was a kayak afternoon. It was an awesomely sunny, Hawaii afternoon, and the wind was brisk. I was on the water in Keehi Lagoon, just about ten minutes after ringing out from work. I had adjusted my paddle, making it a little longer. It's amazing how much different it felt, with just a half inch length added. I paddled my usual route, and with the chop caused by the wind, it slowed me down a little. http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/activity/8121827I always do ...
